buy this weekends fin review

All I can say is wow! I feel like i've just listened to a "success through real estate" motivational tape! While the first piece "safe as houses?" actually tries to pretend its a piece of journalism, the second piece byBen Hurley reads like an RE brochure. They quote real estate agent Theo Felekos (along with several other highly objective sources): "its gone beyond a sense of urgency, its desperation". Later he says that vendors dont even negotiate because the actual part of selling "is no longer important" (huh? translation please?) and that "people see what they like and just buy it". Oh my god! Its our last chance! Hey! Ive got an idea! If everyone on bubblepedia chips in I reckon we could buy something with no debt and double our money by wednesday!

Normally the Financial Review reporting is reasonably balanced, however I too glanced at the front cover and had a peek inside. "A bit keen" is an understatement and it seems the RE Industry is starting to pull out all the last stops to promote house buying. I wish them luck - since running those big BMW, Lexus and Audi 4WDs must be quite costly ...!lolexclaim

Maybe when it's cheaper to rent the money to buy than it is to rent the space, we'll reconsider, but not just now if that's OK by everyone - there are better paying investments out there and we might as well get maximum return on our capital, with no associated servicing costs (insurance, rates, maintenance, and so on)!biggrin

Yep , and that is exactly what people don't get.

I don't know the exact sums because I haven't bothered , but I can tell you , in the last 2 years if you rented and took the money you saved from not having a mortgage and invested the money in Gold/Silver or any other high yeild commodity you would be laughing .

I am laughing by the way.lol

Real Estate Smealestate... When the king of Loans Mr Symonds is saying you paid 50K to much you know you paid $100K to much.

However I don't know if anyone else noticed but the 50K extra Mr Loans was talking about is the exact same number DR K said the grant bonus would add to prices in his famous "It's called leverage stupid" article.

Oh it is so funny when reality finally hits these fools.
