	Is there something wrong with my cookie settings or something, or does anyone else have problems being locked out of the site for hours at a time. All I get is a blank homepage!

I haven't looked in detail for awhile, but I think it is related to a db problem. From memory, if you look at the source when it is down you see a mysql connection exception. It would be good if this problem (whatever it actually is) could be improved. Yeah, it happens to me too — so often that the little thumbnail shown in my browser to represent Bubblepedia actually shows a picture of the site with no content, heh! ;) Agreed, looks like a database problem: the site's obviously still there, it's just not able to pull in any content. author message dan  Re: Bubblepedia access problems? on: Tue 09 of Feb, 2010 [01:34 UTC] HI all Yes, it is indeed a database problem. For some reason your home pc is still finding the old IP address when it asks the network for www.bubblepedia.net.au. There are a number of reasons why this could be happening. To check the problem you need to do the following on your home pc. ( I assume you are using a windows variant , linux or mac have slightly different commands ) 1 ) Start a command prompt 2 ) Type "nslookup www.bubblepedia.net.au" You should get a response that says something like Name: www.bubblepedia.net.au Address : 117.53.174.139 If your pc says a different address then you have a name services problem. Your pc usually uses your ISPs naming servers but you can override this with a change to your local hosts file. It sounds a bit similar to the issue that GHPC had before it finally closed, but in this case it's just me having the problem.
